Why join Earlswood Cricket Club?
If you're interested in cricket then Earlswood CC invite you to join our club. Regardless of previous cricketing experience or age our doors are always open to anyone with an interest in one of England's most popular summer sports.
The Clubmark accreditation was awarded to Earlswood Cricket Club in 2006 and renewed in 2011. Clubmark is administered by Sport England and is awarded to clubs that comply with minimum operating standards in four areas:
• The playing programme
• Duty of care and safeguarding and protecting children and young people
• Knowing your club and its community
• Club management
Regular audits take place to ensure that the club continues to comply with the operating standards required. Our policies are all printed and posted in the clubhouse and held on the Clubmark page of our website. Please click here to link to the page.
We currently have four adult teams playing on Saturdays in the Cotswold Hills League (CHL).
The 1st XI are the current Premier Division Champions. The 2nd XI won promotion to Division 3 last season. The 3rd XI play in Division 5 and we have introduced a 4th XI to play in Division 7 in 2014. In addition we have a full fixture list for our Sunday XI that plays friendly fixtures against other local sides. Each year we enter the National Village Cup, the final of which takes place at Lord's.
We have a vibrant and healthy Junior section with an inclusive ethos offering a wide range of cricketing opportunities to both boys and girls (Aged 5-17).
Teams represent the Club in the Warwickshire League, Worcestershire League and Cotswold Hills League as well as local festivals. We enter mixed sides at every year group from U9 to U17. We also have an U11 Girls team.
The Club provides a pathway for juniors (boys and girls) to play adult cricket via our Sunday and 4th XI from under 13. Six of our victorious 1st XI worked their way up through the junior ranks and juniors now form a large number of the players picked each Saturday. We have a club rule that at least 20% of the players picked for league cricket on a Saturday must be juniors. Last year two of our under 15 girls made regular appearances in our 2nd and 3rd XIs and we wish to expand that during 2014.
The home of Earlswood Cricket Club is at our Watery Lane ground based on the edge of Earlswood close to Cheswick Green. In order to support the increasing demand for the cricket on offer at the club we also rent pitches at Tanworth & Camp Hill CC's 2nd ground on Rumbush Lane near Dickens Heath and at Dorridge's 2nd ground at Grove Lane in Hockley Heath.
